The bird that sang the unusual White-crowned Sparrow song that I posted a week ago has now refined his song a bit and it sounds more like the "normal" White-crowns around him in my yard. I've posted an updated recording of what he's singing now at the bottom of http://www.naturesongs.com/recordists/nrfiles.html. He must be a juvenile,= just learning the song. Note that he still uses the ending "dry trill" that= is uncharacteristic of WCSP.
