If the lows are cut I'd expect that it's done deliberately with a
filter. If they did not bother with a filter, then at least some is
going to get through.

As I noted, even a system that filters out below a certain frequency can
still have higher frequencies modulated by the low ones. I expect a lot
of what's getting through is in that category.

I remember something about such a sample. I don't save most of them
after listening, so don't have it on disk here.

I'm having fun seeing what I find in the low end with the SASS MKH-110.
Not all of it comes out nice, but it is different to work with. Seems to
be a lot of ground effects in there, my high tripod gives a fair difference=
.
