I am trying to decide on a MD to purchase. Does anyone have any
knowledge or opinion on the ATRAC DSP Type-S that Sony has in their
MZ-N10. . . . or does anyone have a suggestion for a good MD for the
field (I already have Sennheiser mic). My budget requires that it falls
into the $200.00 to $300.00 range. Another requirement is that it be a
model that will be readily available in quantities for a while because I
need to purchase them in quantities for a special project.

Wonderful sounds and a great example of the Rode NT-4 in its entirety,
well done and welcome :-)

Hi

What a pleasure to discover on internet that people have the same
interest
for recording nature sounds ! I was looking for a DIY plan to make a
windjammer for my microphone when I found some answers in your email
list.
I didn't know at this stage I would be addicted to your discussions in
the
following days. The tricks contained in all these emails are really
useful
for the newbie I am (except for the mosquitoes because we have mainly
sandflies here in New Zealand but this is another story...)

As sound recording is the main topic of this email list, please let me
present you with some sounds freshly recorded in the Westland petrel
colony
(New Zealand)... without windjammer.
