Hi Matt,
Any idea of target date and price for the UK?
Chris.

As far as we are concerned the quality should be at least as good if not
better than PMD690, the microphone pre-amps are improved and the
recording engine is a whole new second generation development. The Denon
F20R will only accept media up to 512MB, and is getting to the end of
it's
life. Full spec on the PMD670 is on the website as usual.
Best Wishes

Thanks, I didn't realize this. The
merger took place in May 2002. I
wonder if Denon will respond with
a lower-priced model of their own.
The DN-F20R is interesting in that
it has two Compactflash Type 1 slots,
plus software to automatically
switch recording from one flash card
to the second when the first card's
capacity is reached.
I also was mistaken when I wrote that
the PMD 670 lacks a USB port. In
fact it does have USB, plus SPDIF
digital input and output via coaxial
connectors. This sounds like a
sweet machine for less than $600,
providing it can produce recordings
of similar quality to the PMD 690
stereo recorder. We should start
reading user reports in a month or so.
