Hi Bill,

I hate to reveal that I found some decent lower pile fake fur in
small $1.99 rolls at Walmart last week. Worked okay for us at the
camp out but we didn't get many gusts.  Its usually in stock at
fabric stores after July for Halloween.  There are expensive sources
specifically for mics on line, ~$30/yard as I recall.
