Aaron, Oryoki and All,
I've now solved the problem of no sound from Martyn's lyrebird file, with
the help of Kimbal Curtis (computer whiz), son of Syd Curtis (lyrebird
whiz). You were on the right track Aaron. Kimbal pointed out that the
title of the file was too long, and the suffix ".mp3" had dropped off durin=
g
the transfer. All I had to do was to type in ".mp3" and Quicktime then
recognized the file and automatically gave it a Quicktime icon with "MP3"
underneath it. I could then double click the icon and play the sound (good
sounds too!) That dot in front of mp3 is important! Without it, the file
still would not play! So that's something new I've learned today, and migh=
t
be a help to others too.
Thanks for your help folks,
