Lasermics pick up the movement of a window. In these surveillance
applications, the window is very close to the subjects. Therefore,
the distance between the window and the laser mic device (which is
bridged by the laser) will cause no attenuation. So, if you were
able to place a light-reflecting surface (a diaphragm) next to your
subject, it would work in the field too. However, using a laser beam
within a microphone capsule would probably not improve it's
performance.=20
