I spend a lot of time looking at birds in the Philippines. Is your
search concerned with songs of Philippine birds or to do with
recording them?

If not and you are after books try the recent work by Kennedy et al,
and the photographic guide by Fisher and Hicks. The BOU "Birds of the
Philippines" by Dickinson Kennedy and Parkes is a classic work but
more technical. There are a number of birding trip reports which you
could find with a websearch - Urs Geisser's site or Fatbirder are
good places to start. There are two yahoogroups - orientalbirding and
orientalbirdingpix - which cover the Philippines area and of course
the oriental bird club at www.orientalbirdclub.org
