The other choice is to go to a full two point suspension. The "official"
ones look something like here:

But you can make a quite serviceable suspension by cutting away a piece
of PVC pipe and using rubber bands.

Note that the rattling noise you are getting is not normal. Finding and
fixing it is probably the best option.

Handling noise is typically all over the frequency map, making it very
hard to filter out successfully.

With lots of practice it's probably possible to hand hold the mics
without noise. But it's extremely demanding to maintain.
