Dora version 0.01

Friends:

A very preliminary version of a sound editor I'm playing with is at

http://math.uc.edu/~pelikan/Dora/ (or linked from the index.html file in
that directory)

The program is written in Java, so if you want to try it out you'll need to
get a recent (the current) JVM from Sun together with the Dora.jar file fro=
m
the above URL.

The program can cut and insert sounds, has a few simple filters, generates
sonograms in a user controlled way, and plays sound files. This version has
a crude "sonogram editor" that is already slated for a number of
improvements, but about which I'd truely value your observations and
thoughts.

Unless you allocate extra memory when you start the program, it can only
work with small in-memory sound files (of say 5MB or so).

I'd be happy to receive bug reports, suggestions, comments, corrections etc=
.
at

Thanks,

Steve P

Yes, it is common, and now I have a wonderful opportunity to point out the
importance of using angeled mini-jacks, even if they are not gold-plated,
fancy State-Of-The-Art ones! (All Telinga users know what I mean.)=20
