Shaun:

That IS a very helpful web site, and pages 1 - 3 pretty much get you
connected and ready to record.

Page four is very different if using COOL.

Here are the very COOL basics:

In cool, Click VIEW and make sure "Show CD Player" is NOT checked.
press [F10] to monitor the sound levels. Two red bar graphs pop out at the
bottom.
Play the loudest part you have, and make sure they are not over about -6 to
-3 dB.
Then rewind and press [F10] again to shut off the level bars.

Now click File -> New and choose 441000 16 bit Stereo, OK.
Click View -> Waveform View
You aqre now looking at an empty file, with the top as the left and bottom
as right channel.
The red lines are zero volts, i.e. nada.

Get ready to record - look for the small red dot bottom left side. This is
the mouse-record button.
In quick succession:
click RECORD
start your playback of the MD track (you can easily edit out the blank
starting few seconds, later.)

To stop, after the track has concluded, click the black square, lower left.
Now FILE -> SAVE AS type in the name (like MD03T013) for MDisc 3, track 13
and be sure it is as Windows PCM (*.wav)

Put it in a nhady directory on a drive with LOTS of room.

Good luck.
