balance difference of binaural microphones

Subject: balance difference of binaural microphones

Hi,

Last week I bought some binaural microphones (The SP-TFB-2 Sound
Professionals In-Ear Binaural microphones at
http://www.soundprofessionals.com/cgi-bin/gold/category.cgi?
category=3D110 )

But there seems to be a balance difference of 6 dB (50%) between the
left and the right microphone.

What should I do, return them to have them replaced (that will cost
me about half the price of new mics=85) or simply lower the volume
of one channel on my PC which is the place where all my recordings
will end up anyway.

Has anyone out here had experience with this company, and can you
give me advice on this `problem'?

Regards, Evert

Walt,

I am afraid that is impossible; I only got one recorder that I can
connect them to, and the plug can't be splitted so swapping channels
is also out of the question.
I did however try the microphone in a test setup, unplugged the mics
and replugged my other single-point stereo mic, the latter one was in
good balance. Replugging the binaural ones gave me again an uneven
balance... So at least it is not my recording-equipment, it must be
the binaural mics. (They were tested with a mono sound signal)

Regards, Evert
