Thank you for the kind words, oryoki. I am most grateful. It has 
always been my hope that this book would contribute some small morsel 
to the sum of the extraordinary parts extant in the natural world we 
are just now beginning to understand.

The great difficulty in writing such a piece is that Wild Soundscapes 
tackles a subject for which there is no vocabulary. With fine groups 
like naturerecordists, that is beginning to  change.
