Cool CoolEdit Tools

I just discovered a cool CoolEdit tool that I was unaware of - right click=

the "fast forward" button on your tool bar in the bottom left of the screen=

to set the action of the fast forward/reverse buttons - pretty neat! Has
anyone "found" other hidden aspects of the program they's like to share?

I've also been playing with the "stretch" function a lot lately. Using it
set to "resample", "medium" or "high" precision and "stretch" the wave 2,3,=

or 4X, you can get some remarkable insight into some of the "fast talkers"=

of the world - bat social chatter, marsh wren song, and other fast and
complex vocalizations reveal a lot about their structure when this tool is=

used. Just for fun, download the Mexican Free-tailed bat vocalizations from=

my site at http://www.naturesongs.com/otheranimals.html (click on "This is=

what we hear" in the Mexican Free-tailed Bat paragraph) and try this tool
out - you'll be amazed at what's revealed in that high-speed squeaking!
It's obvious that these bats process acoustic information much, much faster=

than we do!

If you have a fast talking sample that reveals something interesting,
please share it with us.
