On my last long trip, I recorded on Sony ES 74 minute blanks, which I bought in bulk for I think $2.79 each. I used them not for better 'error rate' etc. but because their uniform white shells let me write track information on them with pencil/pen in the field... and, they look cool. Not one failed, I have had problems here and there, but these I think are a result of recording while moving (walking, riding on elephants, etc.) and bouncing the deck. Very few errors have manifest audible content -- but they effect the ability of my Sony MDH-10 data drive-based system from EDL to 'rip' the disks direct to my computer via SCSI.
