Not for me!
I recorded some 150+ hours on a long trip recently, and speed
of transfer was the reason I bought a proprietary MD system from EDL in
the UK ... I'm not going to transfer it all, but I will transfer the
majority at one time or another.

Alas! Alack!
Keeping my eye on the OQO... :)

It's actually what I consider the biggest flaw of these Telingas. It
should have been designed to take the standard 9 volt battery. These are
available not only in alkaline, but NIMH and nicad. I actually use a
special 9 volt NIMH of standard shape to charge the Telinga, don't like
using throw aways if I can help it. The standard NIMH and nicad
rechargable 9 volt batteries are the same voltage as the custom battery
and won't charge it at all well. However I found a company that makes a
9 volt NIMH with the same voltage profile as the alkalines.
It's a long ways to go for me to get another custom battery. So far mine
is holding charge fine. I have flattened it a couple times as detailed
above. It's very easy to do accidentally.
