Walt,
I have a catalogue here from John Barry Audio (Sydney, Australia) (they
supply gear for film crews etc), in which is illustrated a "rain cover for
windscreens". It is a half round cover that sits just above the blimp,
attached to it by two elastic straps. Looks like rough fabric but I can't
tell what exactly, it's about the texture and density of velcro tape. The
unit looks to be rigid and padded maybe half an inch thick, and it seems to
be held away from direct contact with the blimp by spacers, maybe a one inc=
h
gap - I can't see the spacers but just four rubber feet would do the job.
There's a padded flap at the back of it. It has an order number for 416 an=
d
816 gun mics. I rang John Barry just now, they said it was indeed "hogs
hair" but the cost is $ 517 Aust. There might be a picture of one on John
Barry's web site www.johnbarry.com.au
Hope that's helpful.
