Hi All,
I quit drinking last April and to solidify my committment registered
www.coldturkey.org, which I thought that someday I would use to try to
inspire others to quit whatever they might wish to "kick." Well, a recent
post to the birds-pix group finally got me going. If you visit the website
you will see a nice photograph taken by Phil Musta, who posted his photo
along with others to the birds-pix group. I asked Phil for permission to
use his photo last week and it turns out that he had just quit smoking in
December. Since then several other people have sent me nice photographs of
turkeys that I will post, and several others have sent me the full history
of the turkey, the different species, and different uses of the word turkey=
,
as in turkey-vulture and brush-turkey. I'll add this information to the
website so that it will have real info in addition to media. I also starte=

a list on the website for those who want to "announce to the world" that
they quit something. If any of you wish to do the same, please email me --
doesn't matter if you quit something a long time ago.
Of course, what I am thinking about from you folks would be turkey sounds
for the website. Anybody have some they would wish to put to the cause?
