In the town I grew up in southern Wisconsin their is a bug that has become common and in great numbers within some neighborhoods in late summer. It was not around at all as I grew up. I do not know if it has just expanded its range or is an import. I keep getting asked when I visit by various people in my old neighborhood what it is. It only sings in darkness in tree tops and I have not been able to see it. Does anyone know what it is? This is the warm temp version. http://people.mn.mediaone.net/richpeet/sounds/unkbug2.mp3 This is the cool temp version. http://people.mn.mediaone.net/richpeet/sounds/unkbug.mp3 I hope this plays ok. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ |
