Maybe an unusual observation for this time of year this morning at the ANBG; up to four Fantailed cuckoos calling loudly and excitedly and possibly chasing each other. Overwintering juveniles practising a bit of vocal mimicry perhaps, or
late departures for points north tricked by the warmer than usual weather - or least likely I would imagine, could they even be early returnees!? Also saw a fairy wren in full breeding plumage. Seems a bit early.
