Hidden amongst the interesting contributions to the February newsletter is a call for volunteers to participate in the 2026 Honeyeater survey, see Page 14.

The survey from 14 March through to 16 May will be conducted each Saturday morning . From 14 March to 4 April four sites will be surveyed with nine sites surveyed from 11- 25 April and then a return to four sites from 2-16 May.

Ideally each site would be covered by a team of 3-4 observers. The initial four sites are at Casuarina Sands, Pine Island, Gigerline A and Angle Crossing.

If you wish to participate in any of the surveys please contact me so that I can start arranging teams  for the various sites.

If interested, please provide your contact details, preferred dates  and location by contacting Chris Davey (daveychris12gmail.com).

For further details see the February newsletter and the Canberra Birds website under 'Observing and Reporting Birds'.
