There has been a green Satin Bowerbird in my area behaving very much as if it is nesting, but I cannot locate the nest.  Their elusive approach to their nest is quite effective.  When we returned from Sydney on the weekend, a green SBB was busy in our garden seemingly foraging.  At the same time, I heard unfamiliar cheeping a bit like a sparrow.

I have never seen or heard a fledgling SBB and am wondering if that could be the sound.  HANZAB is not particularly helpful on the subject.

Re Mynas:  we have an active nest in our front yard from which several clutches have emerged in recent years - three clutches already this season.  The adults seem to frequent the nest hole even when their young are still dependent.  Frequently, we have seen a feather from a SCC in the hole.  But currently, the hole resembles a letterbox after the junk mail deliverer has passed by.  My wife thinks that the Mynas are deliberately obscuring the hole between clutches to fend off squatters.  I am inclined to agree.
