Hi Julie,
I'm also intending to be in Griffith in the next week or so, and had the same curiosity re the Campbell wetlands.
I called the information centre. They assured me that it had been closed in part due to damage on the boardwalk and hide in a storm a while back. However, this is now replaced and restored. They are unaware of any current closure of the wetlands.
