Yes Michael, particularly as the numbers are made available to work with as you wish.  Many factors and considerations to be kept in mind, though.  For example the ‘Costa Rica factor’  -  citizens travelling to attractive destinations to tick birds.  Australia has many eBirders but does not compare well in that regard with Costa Rica  -  or Canada.
