Hi All,
On Sunday I had a brief visit from a female Koel on my bird bath, later on that day an ID post was on Facebook of a bird on a bird bath in Canberra and it was a female Koel. Looking at ebird there have been no other reports for them?
The Oriole have been present at my place as usual through Winter with up to four birds seen at a given time, at least one of them calls several times a day but between the Cocky's, Currawongs and wind it's been a waste of time trying to record the calls.
Yesterday the planets aligned for me, little bird calling and no wind so I managed a few ok recordings of one calling. Apart from a Sparrow, Crested Pigion and a Willie Wagtail all the calls are from the Oriole. For anyone interested in listening I have loaded
3 recordings on my eBird list.
