This is a very old story (just for comparison) but in early 2003, shortly after the major bushfire, I was working at a business on Tennant St Fyshwick. As I had the front office with a ceiling to floor window, I had a view from my desk and could get out easily for a better look. With view over the airport and open paddocks with pines on the other side. Many YTBC seen over several days, with one day I noted about 350 of them, as judged from several flocks of around 50 of them (sometimes more) coming into the viewing area, whilst the trees were still full of the ones already there. Could have been more than that.  The trees in visible range would have been a transect of maybe 200 metres.
