With Steven Wallace and Dave Bassett, I watched this female "Little
Bittern" for something over an hour, fishing very successfully, out in the
open in front of Cygnus hide. It briefly flew to the reeds and then
reappeared. It was unperturbed by the close movement of a "Rakali", a large
Carp and a Purple Swamphen. We were very privileged indeed to have such a
good viewing, but to watch it in the open only about 12-15 mtrs. away for
such a long period was very special indeed.
