Hi folks - the painted snipe appears to have left the pond at the STEP at the Arboretum.  It may have left as a result of many photographers approaching it too closely.  please remember that it is an  Endangered species and that getting close to and disturbing birds when they’re feeding, roosting or nesting can cause stress or expose them to predation. There are useful links at: thBirdlife Aust Ethical Birding Guidelines and/or this Audubon Guide to Ethical Bird Photography
