Looks very much like a baby pigeon to me. And not at all like a Red
Wattlebird. You can do a Google search on "baby pigeon images". So I think
either a Crested Pigeon or Spotted Turtle-Dove. A picture of the nest would
help also. Pigeons build flimsy stick nests.

Can anyone ID this poor thing? The nest was in the middle of the road having
fallen from a Eucalypt. One chick had been run over. Although not alive, I
could leave this one to suffer the same fate. Possibly Red Wattlebird?
