And a little additional information: the family will provide a book at the funeral service if anyone wants to share their thoughts about Jean in writing. I will ensure the words shared on the chatline by many of you are printed out on a page I’ll add to the
 book.

No flowers please.

And friends can join the family at the Hellenic Club from about 3.45 after the burial.

Subject: [Canberrabirds] Some sad news

 

Many of you will be aware that long-term COG member Jean Casburn has been battling cancer for some time.  Jean died peacefully last night (21 August).

Jean was a champion in the fight to have Bluetts Block saved from development, which led to her being the winner of the ACT Environment Award in 2022. 

She was also a loved friend to many of us.
