Hello

I’ve received correspondence from ACT gov regarding the proposed site for an Emergency Services Station in Ḏuffy.

The area includes the watercourse that flows into the Holder wetlands. This is where I do my GBS and is a bit of a hot spot for birds.

I would not like to see this area disturbed.

I think there is sufficient room for the station north of the row of conifers within the specified area. That is between the conifers and Cotter Road.

Birds do use the wetlands and disturbance would be a problem and, I think, unnecessary.

Quail are seen in the grassland in this area so it would be good to minimise the amount of land impacted.

I’ve looked at the area north of the trees and it looks sufficient for the purposes and allows easy access for emergency vehicles to John Gorton and Cotter roads.

They don’t say how much of this land would be used so I think it would be useful to try to influence the decision making process.

It would be good to hear other people’s views on this.

Stewart
