Thanks Shorty, not really late for this species for which in my experience will have begging young throughout autumn and into winter.  This is supported by the BIRD INFO on the COG web site indicating between 6-8 records of dependent young per month from March through to June, around half the maximum of 14 records (for February).  Jack Holland

I was at the Molonglo River Reserve this morning and there were at least 20 birds but could well have been more with begging young being fed, a bit late in the season? I was looking into the sun so I grabbed some audio and loaded it on CNM, the link for anyone interested.
