Wait until a plane hits either a pelican, a flock of cormorants, one of the larger birds of prey, Ibis, swans, Silver Gulls etc or even an early flying flying-fox in mid air and see what happens then. I always thought it was illegal to
do anything to a wetlands area that might attract birds into the flightpaths within 5 km of an airport so that could spell the end of any possible future development in the wetlands/sewage works vicinity. Then there is the issue of idiots with drones. Enough
said!!

The NCA did ask us at ACT Wildlife because they were concerned the flying fox colony in Commonwealth Park might be impacted.
We raised our concerns regarding the fly out every evening and if the planes were going to enter the lake from the airport direction ( Jerra wetlands ) then it would be a major issue .
They advised the flights would cease at 4pm so were were did not express concerns . I doubted they would be impacted by the noise as it would not be nearly as loud nor as the deafening as the 21 gun salute on Australia Day or the F111
which does impact them greatly .
However now hearing the planes are quite loud it will be interesting to see if they are impacted if they are we will raise it with them .
