I agree with Philip, the breakdown of territories can change things quite dramatically and the “resident” birds do move about somewhat.

Unlikely or just local or short term. The Magpie is the most present species
in Canberra suburbs. As in the most consistent species with minimal
variation between months and years, and even sites. Maybe at this particular
time and area there has been a territorial rearrangement between different
family groups and they have not yet resettled a "demilitarised zone"
