Dependent on suitable weather and fuel moisture conditions, ACT Parks and Conservation will look to commence two small ecological burns tomorrow, Tuesday the 17th of January:

 

FB704 Jerra Wetlands

 

Jerrabomberra Wetlands Burn

Location

Jerrabomberra Wetlands Nature Reserve: UBD Map 60, C3. Handy Reference 2 Dairy Rd Fyshwick;-35.315306 S, 149.161486 E

Reason for Burn

The burns will create open grass area where turtles can access breeding grounds, and Lathams snipe can refuge. Increase sedge growth, other native grasses and reeds, decrease clumps of phalaris.
