G’day Jack.

I don’t know if you joined the ADID group but if not these are the first two records of Pacific (that should be its proper name, Birdlife Australia has no idea re taxonomy!!) Koel chicks today. Th first was in Page being fed by Red Wattlebirds – missed the observers name sorry -   and the second was at Throsby Ponds today by Barry J Davis. I will be away again from the 24th for a couple of weeks but will check ABID up until then.

The koels around my place are obviously thinking about moving going by the cacophony of noise they are putting out. I had 5 screaming and yelling at each other in my GBS area last week – 3 in my yard, 1 in a neighbours yard and 1 two houses down. They are now calling from around 4:00am as opposed to after 5:30am during the breeding season!

Cheers,

mark
