Greetings. I imagine that everyone is aware of the current crowd funding appeal to support recovery-oriented research on the critically endangered Australian Painted-Snipe

The fund-raising publicity all states that ‘no-one has ever recorded its call’. But there are calls for this species on David Stewart’s ‘Australian Bird Calls’ app, the Pizzey & Knight app, and Morcombe’s app.
Does anyone have any insights into this apparent inconsistency?
