Like they say you need your plans to be fluid atm.

Sturt Highway closed behind us ( and has since reopened). Wouldn’t want to be a truckie.

From looking at Live Traffic you'd have trouble getting through Moulmein now and the road from Piangil to Tooleybuc seems to be closed by the Victorians.  Adelaide-Mildura- Hay - Griffith-Temora looks possible at present.

Returned from Adelaide last week via moulamein, hay, goolgowi and Griffith. Waterbirds doing just fine out there. Saw shoveler, plumed whistle duck, pelican, lots of straw necked ibis. Most pleasant were roadside black tailed native hens and whiskered terns fleeting over mid western Highway.

However not a transit I would recommend in present conditions. Worst ( broken) roads around temora to harden.

Yes indeed Geoffrey.  Our thoughts with them and all those affected by the floods.  But it seems that Deniliquin, another COG trip destination (of Plains Wanderer fame) has escaped relatively unscathed this time around.

For devotees of COG’s field trips programs the terrible reports about flood waters moving down the watercourses to our west will be particularly saddening.  So many places along the Murrumbidgee and Lachlan that are reported as flooded have been visited by COG trips over the years.  I remember Eugowra where Ian Fraser led a trip several years ago and we watched Turquoise Parrots feeding on the ground near the camp. Some other locations are shown in the below.  Either on a COG visit, or separately, the Lachlan River was frequently crossed on the route from Lake Cargelligo to Round Hill.  The village of Euabalong, now in the news, is nearby. Just last year I ate a sandwich in the little park near the river and chased a Restless Flycatcher around the rather basic recreational equipment. So sad for the people there.
