Floods

For devotees of COG’s field trips programs the terrible reports about flood waters moving down the watercourses to our west will be particularly saddening.  So many places along the Murrumbidgee and Lachlan that are reported as flooded have been visited by COG trips over the years.  I remember Eugowra where Ian Fraser led a trip several years ago and we watched Turquoise Parrots feeding on the ground near the camp. Some other locations are shown in the below.  Either on a COG visit, or separately, the Lachlan River was frequently crossed on the route from Lake Cargelligo to Round Hill.  The village of Euabalong, now in the news, is nearby. Just last year I ate a sandwich in the little park near the river and chased a Restless Flycatcher around the rather basic recreational equipment. So sad for the people there.
