Bruce got me in to birds. I shared many trips & surveys with him dating back to Bondo  & Nanangroe. Always a gentleman & a great bloke

Thank you David and Neil,

It is indeed very sad news.  I have known Bruce for many years including as a near neighbour, in particular he was very supportive after we lost our house in the January 2003 bushfires.  We also often shared rides to COG meetings and Mulligans Flat surveys.  I kept in touch with him until very recently, and I’m sure COG members and chat line subscribers would join with me in offering our sincere condolences to David and to all Bruce's family.

COG’s President, Neil Hermes, writes:

It is with great sadness, I inform COG members that one of our greatest and most humble servants, Bruce Lindenmayer, passed away late last week. Bruce was a long time member of COG and achieved much for COG and Canberra birds in many roles including President. He was recognised as a recipient of the Steve Wilson Medal. On behalf of all COG members I convey our heartfelt sympathies to Bruce's family.

Neil Hermes
