When we were at the lighthouse 12 days ago I guesstimated they were passing at least 10,000 birds an hour. A friend spent a week out there a few days earlier and gave a similar estimate. I’ll leave it others to do the maths to estimate the
total number of birds involved. And I agree that it is a spectacle

Ben Boyd National Park, within which Green Cape is located, has been renamed (30 Sept) Beowa National Park. Beowa is the local indigenous name for killer whale. Martin Butterfield
