Hi All,

Kim Farley and I had a damp but still enjoyable morning blitzing Yerrabi Track, Mt Clear Campground and Shanahans Mt. The rain mostly held off though we were birding in clouds and “scotch mist” at Shanahans Mt. As expected we couldn’t get to Yankee Hat. Not only was the gate locked, but the Gudgenby River was such an impressive/terrifying sight from the gate that I bet we couldn’t have waded through Hospital Creek even in our gumboots.

The most pleasing things we saw were on The Yerrabi Track: a Red-browed Treecreeper and a pair of Satin Flycatchers. Also I have never heard so many Grey Currawongs at once as we found down at Mt Clear.

Cheers,

Sue Beatty
