Hi Nicki
As you say, the birds will still be there, so many of us (most hopefully) will definitely be out there for the Blitz. Those with sites in town should be fine and those of us with sites out of town will be giving it a good go. An adventure really!

Guess what folks,

It looks like a wet weekend for the Blitz!  Third year running.

However, there’s no point sitting at home whingeing about it or you’ll be doing that for the next 7 days. Get out between the showers because that’s what the birds will be doing.

It does however mean that, once again, we will have little access to Namadgi. Most firetrails are likely to be closed given the impending rain this Thursday-Friday, and I wouldn’t encourage exploration off main roads.

Have a look at the list of sites Blitz-sites-adopted-2022-V1.pdf (canberrabirds.org.au) . There are plenty of places around town not yet adopted, and even further afield accessible by sealed road, eg. Tidbinbilla, Corin Rd.

Let me know () which site/s you would like to cover on the weekend. Even if a site already has a name against it you can still visit it and make your own contribution.

Cheers
