I couldn’t say that some don’t stay all winter, however I live in Jensen Street near Red Hill and I work from home most days and do frequent walks and runs around the Red Hill, Federal Golf Course area. When the SPs are around they are pretty
obvious, not so much visible as audible. Since they moved into the area around 2018 the pattern has been large numbers from September to March, with smaller numbers in August and from March to June. They do seem to me to absent in the very coldest weeks from
June to early August.
