Seeing a rare or unusual bird is one of birding’s many pleasures, and one of the key parts of reporting a special find is documenting what you saw. Rare and unusual sightings reported in eBird need documentation before they can be confirmed,
but knowing what information to provide can be challenging. For the how, what and why of eBird documentation, see the short article on page 18 of the April
Gang Gang.
