Thanks to all those who replied to my email yesterday looking for a list of the world's animals in a similar format to the IOC list of the world's birds. I am forwarding the response from Don Fletcher (many thanks Don and I note that you have already sent this to the chat line so apologies for the duplicaton!!) who came up with the two lists below in his email to me. I have looked at the first and , with a bit of juggling of the various columns, should suit my purposes with a "cut and paste" . Now all I have to do is find the time to go through numerous field notebooks to check just what my wife and I have actually seen!!

Ian F I might take you up on your offer to confirm what species Kay and I have seen while in yours and Lou's presence!! However don't hold your breathe waiting ..................... !!

Mark

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_animals for a few approaches.  There seem to be about 500,000 non insect animals

Evening all,

Does anyone know if there is anything like the IOC or Clements etc lists
of birds of the world but one that lists all the mammals, monotremes and
anything I may have missed ?

My wife and I would like to try and list all the various animal species
we have seen in various parts of the world that we have visited.

Many thanks,

Mark
