As at yesterday, still one DY Koel at my place (Kambah). Again RW parents. I have no idea if it is the same one as I noted on 28 December. That one I thought
looked somewhat big. There was a gap of several days in between, in which I wasn’t aware of the young one still being here. So that would hint at being a different one. This one I thought looks particularly small. These are just my vague impressions of size
and whether one bird looking smaller three weeks later, makes any Koel sense, I don’t know. At both observations the young had a virtually full grown tail.

Many thanks Bill, that’s No 39 for the season that I’m aware of, reports have slowed down significantly over the past week.
This includes 8 in my local area of Chapman/Rivett, though no new ones for the past 10 days. Interestingly the first one I found was still begging very loudly from an exposed position last night 24 days after I first located it.

I saw this Koel yesterday after hearing it calling in my back yard. It's still around this morning being fed by two red wattlebirds and harassed by several noisy miners.
