Lots of koel activity in Lyons the last few days, too.

During the past four days I’ve heard koels calling close my place five or six times a day. On three occasions a vociferous male has landed in the garden. However, Red Wattle Birds swoop and the “Black Chanticleer” is quickly chased away.

 

Going on my previous experience with koels in Holt this is a remarkable increase in their presence.
