Hearing koels regularly in Ainslie, and yesterday (24 Nov) a male and female on the powerlines (but not calling) over our garden in the rain.

Subject: [Canberrabirds] Another Koel sighting in Holt
Not five minutes ago a male landed in a large tree just outside the lounge room window and gave
wurra wurra, rather than wirra wirra calls, a couple of times before being swooped upon by a Red Wattlebird which landed and hopped about on the same limb while the koel ignored it. Then four Magpie Larks swooped and the koel flew away giving
forth a few more wurra wurras as it went with the others in pursuit. As I’ve mentioned previously, Koels are an uncommon visitor to our garden.
