On a contrary note to Alison's, the koels around my GBS site, after I recorded three in week 44 and one in week 45, have gone quiet and I haven't heard one at all this week. I think others have also noted this and am not sure why it is happening other than
the persistent wet weather may have had some influence on the birds. Anyone got any ideas?

Jack,
I can now confirm two male and two female Koels at O’Sullivan Street Higgins.
The two males were in the tree in my neighbour’s front yard while the females were in a tree in the back yard. They stayed in their respective trees, occasionally calling, for well over two hours.
Around 5:00 the females began to make a move and they are now all currently flying round the area, calling.
